Sets and Spells part 2
Speaker: Roger Radcliffe
Roger is a well-known local historian and interesting speaker. This talk explores the area from Trevellas Aerodrome to St Agnes Harbour and includes the story of spitfire pilot Gerry Emes; Lobster no-take zone; Wheal Ocean; Tin streaming at Trevellas Coombe (including film footage); Blue Hills trials; Underground at Blue Hills tin mine; Ship building; the Quay Fishermen's Association; finishing with a potted history of St Agnes Harbour. All in 60 minutes!

Who are we?

The Perranarworthal Local History Group (PLHG) was formed by a group of local people who shared a common interest in finding out more about the history and origins of the place they lived in and the surrounding area. The PLHG committee was established in May 2017 and began to organise meetings, and arrange walks and talks on subjects of interest. There is now a regular programme of events for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute to furthering our aims.
