OUR NEXT EVENT:

Tuesday June 24th 7:30pm at the Perranwell Centre
"Old trumperty forgotten" The inventory of goods and chattels of Josias Pearne late of Perran-ar-worthal
Speaker: Dr Joanna Mattingley
Dr Mattingly will decipher the inventory attached to the will of Josias Pearne, late of Perranarworthal parish, who died in 1639.
The original will is held at Kresen Kernow, but a copy of the accompanying inventory was found by Geoff Ryall among the papers of his father Eric. It lists all of Josias's goods and chattels, room by room, and in the hands of a skilled historian it reveals fascinating insights into his personal and household arrangements. Do come along and find out more about life in this village in the 17th Century.

Who are we?

The Perranarworthal Local History Group (PLHG) was formed by a group of local people who shared a common interest in finding out more about the history and origins of the place they lived in and the surrounding area. The PLHG committee was established in May 2017 and began to organise meetings, and arrange walks and talks on subjects of interest. There is now a regular programme of events for people to enjoy and we encourage everyone to participate and contribute to furthering our aims.

What are our Aims and Objectives?

…to appreciate, investigate, study, research, record promote and protect the archaeology and history of Perran-ar-worthal.
